This position is the main point of contact for SIMCO customers for scheduling and processing equipment for calibration and/or repair service.
Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
Receives no instructions on routine work, may determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to others.
Purchases and expedites orders for repair parts, outside services, and supplies necessary for the operation of the organization.
With training, performs general purpose calibration and repair actions on inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador of SIMCO's Mission in Service.
May supervise others and is able to clearly communicate performance expectations to them.
Interacts with members of other departments and management.
Interaction will require the ability to gain cooperation of others and conduct presentations and/or meetings.
Ability to address customer concerns with the help of other staff.
Create, process, quote, and determine the calibration cost for customers.
Answer phones and effectively distribute messages to proper personnel.
Oversees the Delayed Delivery Report (DDR) in an effective and professional manner.
Oversees the Field Service calendar and schedule calibration events with the clients.
Oversees the incoming and outgoing equipment process of the laboratory.
Communicate with customers regarding the status of their equipment in a clear and concise fashion.
Calibrate and repair inspection, measuring, and test equipment (once trained).
Create and submit Opportunities for Improvement.
Add, update, or remove customer contact information.
Handles lost/damaged equipment dispositions.
Make purchase and perform expedites in a timely manner to ensure that required services, parts, and supplies are delivered in the shortest time and at prices consistent with budgetary and quality requirements.
Qualifications Proficient with the basic functions of Office 365 products.
Able to successfully multi-task and manage time efficiently.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Friendly, courteous, and professional.
Education / Experience /Training / Certifications AA/AS or BA/BS Degree in Business or Engineering, or at least 5-years in a customer Support role in a technical environment.
Physical Demands Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time, repetitive computer work Must be capable of lifting 45 lbs.
