Staff Accountant
Genesis PURE is a fast-growing, nutritional, network marketing company located in Draper, UT. We are looking for a staff accountant to join our Finance team.
Job
Summary:
Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts. Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices and bank accounts.
Job Duties:
Reconcile domestic and foreign bank accounts on a daily/weekly basis.
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks.
Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents.
Assists accounting department in annual audit and ad-hoc projects.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Some accounting classes required. 1-2 years experience in related field.
