Listed below is the job description for our Wireless Engineer position.
General Summary
The Wireless Engineer - Temporary position will be responsible for mapping, propagation planning, and interference analysis on JAB Broadband's fixed wireless and microwave platforms using unlicensed and licensed frequencies.
The Wireless Engineer - Temporary will work on multiple aspects of RF engineering such as statistical analysis, coverage/frequency planning, link budgeting, testing and troubleshooting, site selection support, RF field tuning/optimization, interference measurement and mitigation relating to Fixed Wireless Access and Microwave Backhauls. This person will be in the development of RF designs that maximize coverage, capacity and performance objectives addressing short and long-term objectives. This position will primarily be in Draper, but may also include some field work in Salt Lake County.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in wireless network designs, frequency/coverage planning, capacity planning and interference analysis involving platforms operating in the unlicensed and licensed spectrums
Assist in link budget analysis for various wireless technologies in Jab Broadband's Wireless network
Assist in development of microwave backhaul network designs; run feasibility studies and path calculations for new paths or existing path upgrades
Assist in testing, provisioning/configuration, troubleshooting of Access and Backhaul hardware
Analyze statistical network performance data to proactively address the customer experience, including the assimilation of field data
Develop and create software tools to aid in planning and designing Jab Broadband's Wireless network.
Assist in writing and execute test plans including documentation generation
Support implementation of new and existing wireless network platforms in the production network
Quality assurance audit network elements and installation configurations
Work requires weekend and/or evening work and some travel is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Must have a valid driver license to drive within the Company's geographical footprint
Current Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Student
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Education or knowledge of a computer programming language such as PHP, PERL, MySQL
Customer service oriented with passion for high customer satisfaction and achieving operational excellence; ability to interact with all levels of staff including senior management, internal and external customers
Must be able to demonstrate attention to accuracy on all duties and responsibilities
Ability to analyze and define problems, prioritize work flow, multitask, meet deadlines and remain flexible
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Must comply with Company and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) established safety policies and requirements.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
Physical demands:
While performing duties of job, employee is constantly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. On a constant basis, the incumbent must safely lift, carry and maneuver heavy or awkward objects sixty (60) pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Full spectrum color vision required.
Work environment:
Must be able to work safely in a field environment. Must be adept at working in adverse weather conditions. Frequent work in an office environment.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
